British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
This update on his health comes as the boxing community had expressed condolences for the fighter in the following the heartbreaking incident.
