Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.
It said wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
