An Australian man who vaulted across a fence and reached for Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, twenty-six, was given a sentence to over a week in jail for disrupting public order and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," Singaporean immigration authorities stated to news outlets.

The man shoved past photographers and charged at the celebrity, who was attending the Asian premier for the musical adaptation on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

He has a background of causing disturbances at events and high-profile gatherings, including rushing the stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in the past June.

The occurrence caused anger in Singapore, with many accusing him of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has mentioned experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her performance in Manchester in several years ago resulted in the deaths of over twenty people and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the authorities learned he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere multiple times, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a another effort to cross the barriers. Event security stopped him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted recordings expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "at liberty."

Police took him into custody the subsequent day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which the man admitted guilt.

The Presiding Judge the judicial official was quoted by a news outlet as stating that Wen was "attention seeking", commenting that he was mistaken to believe he would not experience repercussions.

The singer has not commented on the situation.

The co-star mentioned the situation to the press, remarking that she "only aimed to make sure my co-star was secure."

"I believe he didn't intend us danger, but you can't predict with these incidents, and I aimed to ensure that she was alright. That was my initial reaction," she commented.
