The relatives of teenagers unaccounted for after a devastating inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an agonising period of uncertainty for answers and appealing for information about their family members online.

The fire devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the small hours of January 1st. Verified images reveal the ceiling igniting as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have stated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the fatalities of the fire, which resulted in the death of numerous partygoers and hurt another scores more. A spokesperson said on Friday that the majority of the injured have been identified, with work still underway to identify the remaining few.

In the waiting period, loved ones have been taking to online platforms to plead for any news about their missing relatives who were in attendance that fateful night.

Appeals for the Missing

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an heartfelt request from his family.

"A companion told me they fled after the fire erupted and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his teachers commented, "He was known for his kindness and positive demeanor, combined with great responsibility. He would frequently ask if get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to reports.

Her brother has posted an urgent request online, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are closely watching the situation.
