Trump Calls Families of Shot Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Vigils across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Call

The president stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the parents of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump addressed the press. “And similarly with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Response

Community members came together over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to aid law enforcement in the capital.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that teachers wished for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a positive energy that inspired people around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The incident led the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and halt granting visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, according to the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
