Trump's Family Member Seeks Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Prior to LPGA Debut
This young athlete maintains impressive social media audience
The young golfer will have numerous well-known cheerleaders as she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns several golf courses and regularly competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we play some close matches," she mentioned.
Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa practically told me to go out there and have fun," she added.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, making him rather occupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has played in only three events recently and holds ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she's able to get advice from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.
"He stands as the top athlete worldwide," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive human being. He told me to go out there, relax, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple top competitors in professional golf at this tournament, including world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that involving Kai exposes golf to new audiences, especially reaching younger fans.
The young star maintains substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive apparel and wellness brand.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
